Blessed With Good People

Most of the time, dear reader, I try to live a life of gratitude. I feel very blessed to live the life I live with the people I share it with on the land that means the world to me. I am humbled by the favor bestowed on me and my family. When I walk my Heavy-B, that is my time to reflect and say thank you for this life. I realize from these times of reflection how many good people we have in our lives. What strikes me is that just when I think our hearts could not be fuller or we could not be more blessed, someone new comes into our circle. I have learned that it is best and essential to keep our circle small. However, there is always room for growth and new people.
Included in my small circle and the nucleus of friends are twin sisters, whom I became friends with in high school, but really developed a close friendship with in my first year in college. Monica and Marie are not just friends; they are family. I am invited to every holiday event, birthday party, and life celebration for their extensive family. The girls go out of their way to include me, especially during the holidays when they know my heart hurts just a little more from estrangement from my own family. The girls are always included in my list of blessings.
You may have noticed that we have a fresh, beautiful new face on our social media and at a few of our events. Miss Erica is the daughter of my dear friend, Monica. Asking Erica to help me out when we were in a bit of a bind came to me very naturally and out of left field. I was stressing about coverage for our event at the farm, and out of the blue, it occurred to me to ask Erica for help. She graciously and bravely agreed to help me out and join our chaos.
Erica is a delight. She is an absolute natural when it comes to sales, our products, and professional conduct. She is focused and detail-oriented, terrific with people, and has extensive knowledge of our products (because she uses them exclusively). I don't trust our business or representing our business with just anyone, so this is a big ask. Erica has taken it on with impressive calm professionalism. I am so grateful to have this young lady in our lives and in our circle. I have watched her grow up, and I could not be more impressed or proud of her.
Hopefully, you will see more of Erica's beautiful face at our events and on our social media. Having Erica help us out feels like a natural fit and a way to keep it in the family. I count her among my many blessings. On this chilly November day, stay safe, be smart, count your blessings, keep an open heart, and your family will come to you, and keep washing your hands.
