Christmas Chaos In My Head

Christmas Chaos In My Head

It is the time of year when everyone else is thinking pumpkin spice, fall festivals, and all things autumn. I, however, am getting into holiday mode. I am always a season ahead. In the scent and soap business, one has to be well ahead of the actual Gregorian calendar. In January, I break out my new notebook, The Soap Bible, with the new year penned in thick, neat Sharpie. I plan each season, each soap, each product, often with detailed colored-pencil sketches. Then, at the beginning of each making season, I tweak those plans and create very detailed outlines.

For the holiday season, I am in a conundrum. I have several new oils that I would like to try and create fresh, new soaps and moisturizer. However, my beloved Sweet Cakes fragrance company is back and operational, and I am loyal to them. I think I need to blend the old with the new for a nice balance.

Right now, I'm focused on creating a perfect offering of gourmand, earthy/natural, floral, and fruity scents. Those are the scent categories you all seem to lean into. I am also considering moving away from holiday themes and leaning more into a seasonal theme. A few classics have to stay, such as Elf Fart and The Mean One. However, a cute, not pain-in-the-a$$ to create snowman would be fun. Right now, my mind is boggled with possibilities and options.

I am also considering offering collections for the holiday season. Is this something you think you might like? Like a gardener's collection, a winter collection, a kids' collection, and a masculine collection? I'm thinking of a nice boxing option to create a lovely but simple gift. Please share your input. I love hearing from you.

As you enjoy the start of the autumn season, my head is already swirling with all things winter and holiday. On this September Monday, stay safe, be smart, enjoy the season, please share your thoughts, and keep washing your hands.
