Finally, Some Progress

Finally, Some Progress

Welcome to Monday, dear reader. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. If you came out to the farm on Saturday, we loved having you! Thank you for supporting our small, farm-based, family business and our vendor friends. Some of you may know, if you are a frequent reader, that we lost our favorite little fragrance company, and I have been searching diligently for other companies that match their quality, standards, and divine selection of scents. Well, dear reader, I finally have good news to report.

We have found three small companies that we feel check all the boxes; and trust me, the list of boxes is long. Having three companies to rely on, rather than placing all our fragrance eggs in one basket, makes us all feel better. I'm not exaggerating when I say we have gotten samples from over half a dozen companies. To date, most of the samples have ended up in the rubbish bin. However, finally, after a lot of research, a bit of luck, and sniffing more bottles than I can count, we have several winners.

Little Bee Fragrance is by far my favorite. With each order, they send you a thank-you card, a piece of Bit-O-Honey (one of my favorite candies), confetti, and a tiny little pom-pom bee. If you order from us online, you know I am a firm believer in making each order feel like a gift. Little Bee does this for me, and I love it!

I also have found several wonderful scents from Simba. They also send a thank-you card, and their packing slips are stamped with the face of the person who packed the order. How fun is that! I am an absolute sucker for marketing.

Last, but not least, is New Directions Aromatics. They have thousands of scents to choose from, and I was not disappointed with any of the ones I ordered. I have two more fragrance companies I want to try before I make my final decisions. It is great to finally have options and know that I can acquire quality, American-made, clean fragrances from a variety of suppliers. This, dear reader, is a heavy weight that has been lifted.

I am looking at revamping our men's line and kids' line, and adding scent categories for everyone to choose from. My goal is to narrow, focus, and build on what we already have. The changes will take place gradually, subtly, and intentionally. It won't be an overwhelming all-at-once restructure. We'll add new scents, probably as seasonals, and decide what will become part of our permanent collection. You will not be disappointed, dear reader.

I am thrilled I finally have positive news to share. On this Monday of July, stay safe, be smart, keep searching: you will find what you are looking for eventually, and keep washing your hands.
