It's The Little Things

It's The Little Things

Well, dear reader, it is the start of the week and the week of Thanksgiving. Yesterday, The Bean and I did our grocery shopping for the big day. We went after church and after lunch. It was not busy at all. I was prepared to fight crowds, wait in line for checkout, and face a limited selection of the things I needed. I was pleasantly surprised at just how peaceful our local market was and how full the shelves appeared. The Bean and I decided to divide and conquer; she took the bottom half of my shopping list, and we finished in no time.

I can honestly say, dear reader, my daughter makes everything better. She makes doing the most mundane things, like grocery shopping, a pleasant experience. She is naturally a calm person, and her relaxed, logical approach, with a strong dose of common sense and a fun, lighthearted outlook, makes my world brighter. We completed our grocery shopping, and on the drive home, she ate sushi and regaled me with stories of her shopping experience. She had me in stitches with her colorful description of grocery shopping.

I have a lot to be thankful for, dear reader. I know this is a busy week for many. I hope you can take the time to appreciate the blessings in your life. There are so many things to be thankful for if we look for them, think about them, and notice them. It's good, very, very good. On this lovely Monday, stay safe, be smart, begin your week with being thankful, and keep washing your hands.
