The First Free Weekend

Welcome to Monday, dear reader. This week begins what my bib overall-wearing buddy deems Hell Week. We have had several Hell Weeks in the past few months. Hell Week is a week of lather-rinse-repeat(pun totally intended) making of soap. We will make five batches of soap a day for four days. The days in between will be spent cleaning, stamping, and stacking. It is an all-hands-on-deck kind of week. Sigh. These weeks are exhausting, filled with crockpot meals and frozen pizza. We're even too tired to run to town for takeout. However, we get so much done, and that is satisfying if it keeps one bib overall wearing wonder buns from having a panic attack, it's all good.

However, on the eve of Hell Week, we had our first weekend free of any soap-related activity. This was the only weekend we didn't have anything scheduled for the business until December 6th. Considering the holiday season, fundraisers, and online sales, we probably won't have a free weekend until after the first of the year. There are worse problems to have, dear reader.

So, how did we spend our one free weekend, you may ask? Did we luxurate in bed until the sun rose, drink coffee until mid-morning, read a book by a cozy fire? The answer is no to all. I cleaned, Eric mowed, and then I planned activities for every day of the weekend. Sigh. I hate my ideas. Saturday, we attended a birthday party, which was fun. Sunday, we went to church. That was a new and pleasant experience. Then, The Bean decided we needed to go to Fort Ligonier Days because it would be fun. I saw my friends, so it was fun. However, by the time Sunday night arrived, I was exhausted from "fun activities." I had a running list of things I needed to accomplish, but nothing was checked off. However, I got to spend quality time with people I care about, support local businesses, and I found something I have been looking for for a long time. Overall, it was a good weekend.

Now, I need to get through this week...

On this wonderfully rainy Monday, stay safe, be smart, get through your week, and keep washing your hands.
