Foodie Friday: Cinnamon Jumbles

Welcome to the first Foodie Friday of February. This month I have decided to share various recipes that I love. The recipes I love cover everything from beverages, appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. It will be a month of eclectic but well-loved recipes, and I hope you enjoy them. Today I will share with you my favorite cookie recipe. This recipe is an old, simple one handed down from my grandma.

When I was a kid, I loved it when my mom baked Cinnamon Jumbles. Cinnamon Jumbles were a treat we had pretty regularly. This recipe is so simple and easy. It also makes just the right amount. The recipe yields approximately two dozen cookies. Cinnamon Jumbles were my choice of cookie if allowed to decide.

I made Cinnamon Jumbles this week and The Bibbed Wonder, and my bean liked them so well that I made them a second time. The cookies take about a half hour to make, and if you use two large cookie sheets, you can bake them all in one eight-minute round. I hope you enjoy this simple, delicious cookie recipe.

Cinnamon Jumbles

Ingredients:

½ Cup Margarine, Softened

1 Cup Sugar

1 Egg

1 Tsp. Vanilla

¾ Cup Buttermilk

2 Cups Flour

½ Tsp. Baking Soda

½ Tsp. Salt

Cinnamon and Sugar Mixture

Directions:

Preheat over to 450 degrees

Prepare two baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray

Thoroughly mix the first five ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Next, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to the mixture and mix thoroughly until smooth.

Drop by spoonfuls onto a prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake for 8 minutes.

Enjoy.

On this frigid morning, stay safe, be smart, enjoy delicious, simple food, and keep washing your hands.
