Lovely Lavender: The Unsung Hero of My Little Soap Company

Tuesday Spotlight

I often become enthralled with new ideas. I have even been told by a certain bibbed wearing, bald man that I am like a dog with a bone when it comes to my ideas. I admit, I do get very excited when I have a new idea. I am consumed with it. I research, take notes, create plans, and experiment until I am satisfied as to whether it is a good idea or a complete failure. However, in my humble opinion, I consider this one of my strengths (please insert childish tongue sticking out face with perhaps an added obscene gesture to said bibbed, bald man). However, I digress. I often focus on the new ideas, talk about new ideas and push my new ideas in person and on social media. All the while, I forget about the attributes of my former new ideas that have become well received staples. With that being said, I am going to spotlight my lovely lavender soap.

Lavender soap was the very first scented soap I created. I think back to that time in my kitchen buying small amounts of ingredients and using my personal pots, pans, spoons, and thermometer and it dawns on my how much this little business has grown. I have always loved the scent of lavender but was never aware of its benefits to skin health, aromatherapeutic qualities or ability to help with health issues. Once I began researching, I developed a new level of respect for this beautiful plant. Lavender not only creates a calming scent, lavender works as an anxiolytic (an anxiety reliever) and as a sedative, to increase relaxation and calm, and help bring about sleep. Lavender interacts with the neurotransmitter GABA to help quiet the brain and nervous system activity, reducing agitation, anger, aggression, and restlessness. That alone makes it amazing in my book but lavender also can be taken orally, applied to the skin, and breathed in through aromatherapy. Lavender oil can benefit the skin in various ways. It has the ability to lessen acne, help lighten skin, and reduce wrinkles. It can even be used to treat other things, like improving hair health and digestion.

Once paired with the high-quality ingredients in my soaps and lotions, lavender is a super power in the skin care world. I recommend lavender soap for those who have skin issues or are sensitive to fragrance. I also recommend lavender soap and lotion for small children over three or those who have anxiety or insomnia.

I hope you have found this to be helpful and informative. I have several soaps and lotions with lavender and blends of lavender. Please feel free to ask question and browse my website.
