The Shaker Woods Festival

It is hard to believe that we will be in Columbiana, Ohio, next weekend for The Shaker Woods Festival. Summer is indeed flying by. Once we return from The Shaker Woods Festival, we will have four more Ligonier Country Markets, and our market season is over for the year. Time flies when you are having fun.

The Bibbed Wonder and I will make the trek out to Columbiana to check on our building in the woods and drop off our decorations for the festival. Every year we have the building pressure washed in preparation for the festival. We will ensure everything is in good shape, clean the glass, rake the leaves, and knock down any cobwebs. We are looking forward to the festival, and preparing the building is part of the fun.

This year, we have created an exclusive soap for the festival. I named it The Woods, a scent blend that is woodsy, fresh, and a tad bit sweet. Capturing the scent of the woods during the festival was an enjoyable undertaking. Naturally, I chose scents that were a bit earthy and woodsy. However, a significant scent influence is also the cider works booth that fills the woods with the scent of fresh apples, pears, and cherries. The apple cider donut booth introduces a sweet heavenly scent to add to the aromatic bouquet. Working to capture the essence of the festival in an essential oil blend took a bit of time and finesse, but the finished product is lovely. I am pleased with my interpretation of The Woods.

Also making an early debut exclusive to the festival are a few of our fall scents. Pumpkin Sandalwood will be available during the festival. We’ve also created an Autumn Marmalade that is fruity and lovely. Cream and Berry Bliss and Orange Blossom and Honey will also be available at the festival. It is an exciting time for us, and we look forward to making new connections and introducing our new products to a large audience.

I highly recommend The Shaker Woods Festival if you want a lovely road trip idea and love festivals. It is a beautiful drive; the woods are festive and fun, there are only the highest quality vendors, and there is something for everyone. The Shaker Woods Festival runs the second, third, and last weekends in August. We look forward to seeing our soap family and meeting new friends.

On this overcast August day, stay safe, be smart, plan to attend The Shaker Woods Festival, and keep washing your hands.
