It is finally Friday! We have two more markets left, and that will complete our market season. It is hard to believe the market season is almost over. Twenty weeks at the market goes quickly, especially in these unsettling times. We continue to limit our travels, and the market is a brief reprieve from the farm. Although I won’t miss the alarm going off at 3 a.m. on Saturday mornings, I will miss my market friends and soap family.
The Smiling Goat Soap Company will be represented at three events this weekend. We are grateful for our friends, Wendi and Jenna, who take our soap to various events around the state. Wendy has been set up at the Cookport Fair all week and will continue to be there this weekend. The most capable, hardworking young woman I have met, Jenna, is taking time out of her busy Penn State schedule to go to the South Side Goat Fest at South Side Park, Arlington Baseball Field in Pittsburgh. It looks like an exciting venue, and I can’t wait to hear Jenna’s take on it. An event that is based upon goats can only be amazing.
The weather this weekend is supposed to be summer-like and beautiful. If you don’t have plans yet, I strongly suggest you check out one of the events we will be attending. If you are a frequent reader, you know I adore everything about the Ligonier Country Market and always encourage everyone to come. I am sure Jenna would love to see a friendly face besides the adorable bearded baaing ones at Goat Fest if you are in the Pittsburgh area. If you are in the mood to experience an accurate representation of a country fair, say hello to Wendi, who will be at Cookport Fair all day Saturday.
I adore this time of year with all its festivals, outings, and gorgeous weather. I hope, dear reader, you have an opportunity to do something fun and relaxing this weekend. As always, stay safe, be smart, do something fun, and of course, wash your hands.
