I thought with the spring-like weather we will experience this week in Western Pennsylvania; we should have a bright, fresh happy-scented Tuesday Spotlight. With that in mind, we chose our Lemongrass Grapefruit soap and moisturizer to be the half-off special for the week. Lemongrass Grapefruit is the perfect scent for all you citrus lovers. Unlike most citrus fragrances, lemongrass oil, when combined with pink grapefruit oil, holds up beautifully in cold process soap. When saponifying, cold process, soap can reach temperatures of more than two hundred degrees. This makes for a very harsh environment, and many citrus oils such as lemon and sweet orange oils cannot withstand such high temperatures. I find I have more success getting citrus oils to "stick" if I blend them with another stable essential oil.
