Best. Dog Mom. Ever

Meet the very handsome Magnum

Happy Monday, dear reader. No matter what you believe or celebrate, I hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with love and blessings. As we brace for more winter weather here in western Pennsylvania, we are keeping our eye on the prize for April 30th. Although it is two weeks away, the weather looks like it has the potential to be beautiful. April 30th is our event here at the farm. Between now and April 30th, I will be taking the time to highlight my friends, their talents, and their small businesses.

Today, I would like to introduce you to my friend Trisha Brown. Trish and her mom began a healthy pet treat bakery in the Greensburg area. Canine Confections has been creating healthy, tasty, beautiful pet treats for over twenty years. The bakery is located at 420 E. Pittsburgh Street. Greensburg, Pa. Not only do they make delicious dog treats, but they also carry a beautiful line of dog collars…made by Trish and her mom, as well as dog accessories like jackets and bandanas. Trish keeps my boys, Chubs and Buster decked out in beautiful collars for all the holidays and seasons. The collars are almost indestructible, wash well, and hold up to the wear and tear of my two farm dogs. I recommend any of Trisha’s products for your fur baby.

I met Trish several years ago at the Ligonier Country Market. Trish had the misfortune of being our neighbor and was subjected to The Bibbed Wonder’s shenanigans very early on. Luckily, Trish has an amazing sense of humor and a very high tolerance for nonsense. We quickly became friends and looked forward to seeing her every week. Although we are no longer neighbors at the market, we continue to look forward to our time with Trish. We eat our way through the market, catch up on everything going on in our lives, and spend a lot of time laughing. Trish is one of my favorite people on this planet.

Although she is a tough cookie, she has a heart of gold and would do anything for the people she cares about and loves. I love her straightforward approach to life, her no-nonsense advice about business, and her love of animals. I believe that the way a person treats animals is indicative of what kind of person they are on the inside. In my opinion, Trish is one of the best people you will ever meet.

Trish has her boy Magnum, a black lab. Magnum lives a better life than most humans. There isn’t anything Trish won’t do to provide the very best care for Magnum. He’s been through health scares and surgeries, and Trish has stood by him no matter what the cost of time or care. She’s an amazing dog mom. That care carries over to her products and her business. She will take the time to listen to one’s concerns about their pet’s health and diet. She offers honest advice and a wealth of insight. I trust her wholeheartedly.

I hope you can join us on April 30th to meet my friend Trish and check out her unique products. If you can’t join us on April 30th, Trish is on Facebook, and she has a brick-and-mortar bakery that is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-5 and Saturday from 10-3 at 420 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Pa 15601.

As always, stay safe, be smart, come meet my friends on the 30th, and keep washing your hands.
