Well, dear reader, week one of the Ligonier Country Market is in the books. The A Team was on duty this weekend because I am fighting a mildly severe infection. I spent Thursday into Friday in the hospital, but signed myself out to do Jordan's first college tour. It may not have been the best decision I could have made, but I wanted to be there for my girl. After much sleep and doing little to nothing, I am beginning to feel better. Eric said he knows I must be feeling bad when I miss opening day of the market.
The A-Team came home smiling and filled me in on our friends from the market. Eric sent me pictures of Baby Jack, who really grew over the winter. Baby Jack is the newest addition to the Pisarck family, which has Pisarck's Greenhouse. They are quite possibly one of the most beautiful and kindest families I have ever met. I'm looking forward to seeing Baby Jack in person this weekend.
Eric and Jordan reported that our dear friend Mrs. Nut Roll is in good health, looks great, and was walking around the market before it began. That, dear reader, is wonderful news. Anyone who has the pleasure of knowing Sharon knows what a delightful human being she is. She has had several health scares over the last few years, and it is good to see her improving and doing so well.
Of course, all our favorite friends were at the market, and Eric filled me in on everyone and how they fared over the winter. I look forward to seeing everyone in person this weekend and getting into the swing of things. The market is one of my favorite places, and it always makes me smile.
After working the market in Ligonier, the A Team attended a small show at Edgewood Winery on Sunday. This was one of the shows The Bean signed up to do, and was a practice run for her to do shows on her own. They reported that the venue was beautiful, the crowd was lovely, and the other vendors were very friendly. It's good practice for Jordan, and we appreciate the opportunity.
The Bean and I sat and researched other smaller shows she could do that aren't too far from home and would be easy for her to do either with a friend or alone. She has a small list of shows still open for applications, but most are in the fall. She handles herself with a level of professionalism that impresses me. Even if she were not my child, I would be impressed with her professionalism and work ethic at such a young age. She makes me very proud.
I plan to continue taking it easy this week, but I will return to the market on Saturday. My darling husband informed me he did not make one single joke about my not being in attendance this week. That, in itself, tells me he must be concerned for my well-being. Usually, I would be furious if he told people I ran off with a plow truck driver, the UPS man, or that I was passed out drunk. Sigh. So, there is that.
On this chilly spring day, stay safe, be smart, and keep washing your hands.
