Today our Tuesday Spotlight shines upon our ever-popular Milk and Honey, as well as our Milk, Honey, and Oatmeal soaps. Not only does this mild, gentle soap smell amazing, but it is moisture-rich, and the oatmeal bar is gently exfoliating. This is my go-to soap for anyone who wants to try our products but isn’t sure which soap to choose. The scent is gender neutral and mild enough for even those with sensitive skin.
We begin each batch of soap with almost five pounds of raw goat’s milk. Goat’s milk is the first ingredient listed in most of our products because that is the ingredient used in the greatest amount. The powers that be require that all products be labeled in the order of the greatest amounts of ingredients used. If you read the labels of various popular products, you will notice that water is often the main ingredient. Here at The Smiling Goat, we don’t use any water in our soaps. Our liquid portion of our soap is always our raw goat’s milk.
Milk and Honey soap or Milk, Honey, and Oatmeal soap are my most recommended soaps. Often, individuals ask for a recommendation for soap for someone with sensitive skin or who suffers from skin issues. If an individual is suffering from dry skin, eczema, or psoriasis, I first recommend one of our unscented bars. However, there are people who prefer scented soaps, and our Milk and Honey products are my go-to. I recommend the Milk, Honey, and Oatmeal soap unless the individual has a gluten allergy. If there is a gluten allergy, I recommend our Milk and Honey bar.
Oatmeal is excellent for dry, itchy skin. It adds a moisturizing emulsion that helps the skin lock in moisture. It also gently exfoliates the dead, dry skin that can add to the itching. Soaps with colloidal oatmeal are lovely, especially in the winter months when our skin is bombarded with dry air, itchy sweaters, and the drying cold.
Milk and Honey soap or Milk, Honey, and Oatmeal soap are great for gifting because scent is so personal, and it isn’t easy to pick a scent for someone. Not only is the scent mild and neutral, but the soaps make a lovely presentation with their honeycomb-like tops and a hint of gold shimmer. When asked to make a basket donation for a fundraiser, I always choose our Milk and Honey products.
