My dear friend Carlene, I, and my bib overall-wearing wonder buns

On Saturday, dear reader, we bid you farewell until next year, Ligonier Country Market. It's always bittersweet to see the market season come to a close. On one hand, I greatly look forward to not getting up before the crack of dawn on Saturdays. I also look forward to gaining two more days in the shop and around the farm once the market is over. However, on the other hand, I am sad to see it end; I will miss my friends and their amazing products, as well as the pleasant market atmosphere.

Things I will miss the most about the market are as follows: seeing my friend Tricia. Seeing Tricia for twelve consecutive weeks makes my little heart happy. If you can't find me in my tent, and let's be honest, with three of us in there, it is a bit crowded, so you probably won't find me there. I am hanging out in my friend Tricia's tent for most of the market. Spending time with Tricia is one of my favorite things to do. I will miss my morning conversations with my friends before the market begins. Chatting with Chris and Sharon, Susie, Caryn, Patrick, Sherry, Lauren, Christina, Pam, and Missy is my Saturday routine. I enjoy saying hello to everyone and catching up on the week's happenings. I will also miss my soap family. Some of you come to see us every week, and I enjoy you immensely. Brenda and Cindy are always good for a laugh. Robbie, I have you on my list of lunch dates for the winter. The people are what make the season enjoyable.

Products I will miss the most: Susie's flower bouquets. Piscarek's flowers are the most beautiful and long-lasting flowers at the market. If I don't purchase a bouquet, Susie always gifts me one that is left at the end of the market. These flowers brighten my week. Seriously, I love cut flowers, and seeing a bouquet created by my lovely friends makes my week. Missy Lala's Biscotti is going to be missed as well. I look forward to my cup of coffee and daily biscotti. When I am out of biscotti, something is missing in my day. My Saturday caramel macchiato from Darkside Coffee will also be missed. Sourdough bread by Season's of Sourdough is really going to be missed. This is what I use for our weekly bread. The Bean and I are going to try to make sourdough from the starter purchased from Season's of Sourdough, but I am not confident I can keep it alive or use it properly. That will definitely make for a few interesting blog posts, I am sure. Kenna's acai bowls are also on the list of things I will miss. Her bowls are delightful, fruity creations, and I enjoy them immensely. I also enjoy McKenna, so there is that. Luckily, most of my friends are joining us for our Fall at the Farm event on October 18th. I will get my fix then, as well as at the Ligonier Country Market Holiday Market on November 1st.

Things I will not miss about Saturdays spent at the market are: waking up at 3 a.m., setting up, Eric gassing himself up on market food, and then having to ride home with him, as well as not being able to do anything on a Saturday because the market consumes us. That is a pretty short list. After nine years, I continue to enjoy our Saturdays at the market far more than I don't. I believe, dear reader, that says something rather significant. So, on this lovely September day, stay safe, be smart, enjoy what you do, and enjoy the people you do it with. May your list of likes far outweigh the dislikes, and keep washing your hands.
